There’s a mindset shift that many brands need to make regarding social media marketing.
It’s not:
🚫 How do I promote my product?
🚫 How do I sell more?
🚫 How do I go viral?
🚫 How do I get more followers?
Instead, it’s:
✅ How do I create content that adds value / helps people?
✅ How do I create content that people will remember?
✅ How do I create content that people actually want to consume?
✅ How do I build trust within my community?
Regarding community building, Gary Vaynerchuk said it best, “Most brands say they want to build a community, but what they actually want is more customers.”
I get it… you have new features you want to promote, you have products you need to sell, you have overhead that you need to cover…
So what do you do?
That’s the million dollar question.
It’s about thinking long-term.
This is really the goal of marketing – making future sales easier through brand building, community building, gaining awareness, showing authenticity, and building trust.
By creating valuable content and fostering trust, you’ll naturally attract customers who genuinely believe in your brand and want to join your tribe.
It may not be next week or month, but by posting the right content (contextual based on the audience and platform), consistently, over time, you will see results.
Brand building is a marathon, not a sprint.
