Never underestimate the power of a long walk.
In my book, The Art of the Hustle, the character (loosely based on me) would go on long walks.
This is 💯 true, so I had to put it in the book.
When I first moved to Vancouver, I started a company.
Long story short, I choose the wrong partner, and it didn’t end well.
I was down and out, broke and broken, jobless, facing homelessness, depressed, uneducated, had no connections…
I was in a bad spot.
With no real reason to wake up in the morning, I would go on long walks for hours and just think.
It was on those walks where I would map out my next 10 moves to try to get myself to higher ground in life.
It’s something I still do to this day.
If I need to solve a problem, clear my head, think creatively, think strategically… I go outside and walk.
I go into a kind of hypnotic state of mind.
Suddenly, clarity seems to reveal itself, almost as if I’m paying a tax.
