Henry Ford once said — ‘If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.’
While I don’t fully agree with this, it does make a little bit of sense.
There are times when small incremental steps lead to spectacular outcomes.
But midway through the process, you may have nothing.
In this case, doing what you’ve always done may just be small steps leading up to something great and you have no idea. It may be impossible for you to see what’s beyond the other side of the mountain that you’ve been climbing.
But, I also think there are times when you definitely need to pivot, whether in life or business.
It’s really difficult to know when that is.
👉 Should I go all-in?
👉 Should I diversify?
👉 Should I abandon altogether?
👉 Will this pay off at some point?
I used to be a novelist. For 10 years, I published at least two books per year, every year.
I told myself I would give it 10 years to see whether or not I can make it work.
Ten years later, I didn’t get rich and famous from my books, so I decided I need to redirect that same energy into something else.
I now run a full-service marketing business, helping clients all over the world.
