SEO trick for Google search console

I say this all the time, SEO is constantly evolving. Tactics, keywords, platforms, behaviours… it’s all in flux. This is why SEO is not a one-and-done thing, but requires constant maintenance and proactivity.

👉 Try this SEO trick:

1. Go to Google Search Console

2. Click ‘Performance’

3. Click ‘Compare’ and choose ‘Last 3 Months’

4. Click ‘Pages’

5. Click ‘Clicks Difference’

6. Look for negative numbers

Basically, any negative numbers is an indication that you are losing ranking for some keyword in the past 3 months.

7. Click on one of the pages with negative numbers

8. Click on ‘Queries’

This will tell you all the keywords that people are using to find that page.

9. Click on ‘Clicks Difference’ again

This will sort the specific keywords you are losing the most traffic for.

10. Copy these keywords and go to SEM Rush (or SEO tool of choice)

11. Paste them in to the keyword planner

12. Go to Trends

You want to see if the keyword you are using is no longer popular, or if you are just being outranked.

13. If possible, find a different keyword where the trend isn’t declining, and optimize your page with this new keyword

14. Do this once per month

David-Mamet The Perfect Ballgame, three uses of the knife

Community Building for Brands

How do you make your brand stand out?

The answer lies in the age-old art of storytelling. Just as a perfect ball game keeps fans on the edge of their seats, a well-told story can captivate your audience, create emotional connections, and ultimately drive action.

The following was taken from the book, Three Uses of the Knife: On the Nature and Purpose of Drama, by David Mamet

What do we wish for in the perfect ballgame? Do we wish for our team to take the field and thrash the opposition from the first moment, rolling up a walkover score at the final gun?

No. We wish for a closely fought match that contains many satisfying reversals, but many of which can be seen retroactively to have always tended toward a satisfying and inevitable conclusion.
