Random thought: what if marketers were brought in to consult for governments? 🤔

Isn’t a government much like a large brand?

They have a point of view. A budget. Stakeholders…

Governments (hopefully) speak to the people, enact policies and strategies to make change, make progress, make things more efficient, make things safer, to get people to do things (or not do things).

Marketers are great at these things.

We excel at:

👉 Strategy – Taking complex ecosystems, resources, and ideas and making decisions. Leveraging data, consumer sentiments, behaviours, identifying patterns, values, and trends to build products and develop strategies that resonate and drive action.

👉 Crafting compelling narratives to build loyalty and trust, essential for gaining public support, uniting people, and fostering a sense of community.

👉 Data analysis to better understand public opinion and behaviour, enabling more responsive and effective governance.

👉 Communication to make government information more accessible and engaging, including websites and apps (I have yet to see a good government website). We could help enhance transparency, drive participation, and ultimately create a more informed and involved citizens.

What do you think? Could marketers help shape a better future for governance?
